BANDIMERE SPEEDWAY
UPDATED 7/25/2010 at 9 PM
Thank you to everyone who participated in Mile High Nationals.
After a rocky start on Friday, we managed to pull our
Pomona Pride together and show what we can do as a team!
Thank you to everyone who participated!
See!! It really was kinda fun!
As a result, there is a remote chance we can staff the
concession stand and the beer tent for PINKS on August 14th.
The most up to date schedule is posted on the website.
Please look at the this schedule, and your schedule and let us know if
you are interesting in working.
PINKS is broadcast on the SPEED network and draws a crowd
as big if not bigger than MHN!
Luckily, it is only for one day.
Here's the catch....if it rains on August 14th, we need to have staff
in place that can work August 15th.
Consequently, we need to fill shifts AND contingency plans and we
need to do this SOON!

An Award Winning Tradition
The Pomona High School Band Program -
Ed Roush, Band Director
- Colorado Bandmaster's Association State Champions 11 Times
- Three-time Colorado Music Educator's Association Honor Band
The Pomona High School band program is rec
ognized locally and nationally for its commitment to music excellence. From 1994 through 2005, the Pomona High School Marching Band was the Colorado Bandmaster's Association Class 5A State Champions 11 times. The students were also invited to march twice in both the world famous Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the London New Year's Day Parade.
In addition, the Pomona Symphonic Band was named a Colorado Music Educator's Association (CMEA) Honor Band three times since 2000. Lastly, the Pomona Winter Guard and Percussion Ensemble were 2004 WGI World Finalists. The band program also includes a wind ensemble concert band, two jazz ensembles and an orchestra.
Pomona Arts and Humanities Program (PAH)
Where the arts and academic achievement meet.
Pomona High School offers a unique program for students with creative talents and interests, who also want a demanding academic program. It is the Pomona Arts and Humanities (PAH) program, and many band students are members. Students select an artistic path - instrumental music, vocal music, visual arts, theater or a multi-path option – and then take core academic classes designed to promote a creative, hands-on, integrated approach to learning. Prior to graduation, students complete a capstone project demonstrating what they have learned in the PAH program.
The PAH program was developed based on research showing that on college entrance exams, students with an arts and humanities background out-performed students who did not take these types of classes. The research also showed the longer a student remained in an arts program, the better their results on college entrance exams.
For more information on the PAH program, click on the Music Programs menu, and look for PAH in the drop-down menu or click here.
